Artists’ Stronghold

Location: Pasadena, California - Scope: 22,000 SF Addition and Renovation - Client: The Armory Center of the Arts

The renovation of the Armory Center for the Arts redesigned the children’s art education center and gallery for the namesake Nonprofit Organization and added 6,800 SF of studios in a two-story concrete block addition. While maintaining the historic characteristics of the National Guard Outpost on the exterior, playful contemporary architectural elements lighten up the interior of the space. Designed as a LEED certifiable project in collaboration with Donna Vaccarino.
