Location: Santa Monica, California - Scope: Complete Renovation/Interior Remodel - Collaborating Architect: Anne Troutman

This careful intervention creates a functional, comfortable home within the oldest church in Santa Monica. The design preserves the integrity of the past and meets modern sensibilities with a new freestanding, cabinet-like structure within the large open sanctuary. Leaving the historic church completely intact by not touching any of the perimeter walls, the central “cabinet” accommodates two and a half baths, a galley-style kitchen, an extensive library, and a loft for guest sleeping and home office.
